In May, 2006, I did a concert with the Wednesday Night Band, in New Rochelle, NY. Here's a Quicktime video clip of Dave Wolpe's great arrangement of "I Got Rhythm!"

I just got a new PowerMac G5 this summer, and finally figured out how to hook up a microphone to it to use with Garage Band. So here's something I threw together, a funky hip-hop jazz thing. The trombone is the only live instrument, everything else is in my computer. I used my new Yamaha Xeno trombone. The tune is about 5 minutes, the file is around 6.5 meg. Feel free to dance! Enjoy!

Trombone Groove

My newest one is "Amazing Grace" There are 9 trombone parts, all done on my new Yamaha Xeno, plus the other instruments are courtesy of Apple's Garage Band. See what you think! The file is around 6.5 Meg...

Amazing Grace!

Here I am on Euphonium, along with Rob Stattel and Ian Cox. We're playing
Bugler's Holiday, by Leroy Anderson. I think it sounds a
heck of a lot better on euphonium than on trumpet!!!
This is pretty recent, recorded live at a
Lehman College Band concert on 10/26/2003.
The file is about 4 Meg, in mp3 format.

Here's a demo I did for the Tappan Zee Bridgemen, one of the area's premier marching bands. Leader Bill Losier did the trumpet and flugel parts, Jim Sheridan on drums, and me on everything else! I did the french horn part on bass trumpet, 3 trombone parts, and tuba. The tune is a Maynard Ferguson favorite, "Brass Machine!"

Here is the mighty Bottom Line Tuba Quartet, beautifully recorded by Greg Squires and Squires productions, done in the recital hall at SUNY Purchase. I'm on 1st euph, the quiet, yet mischievous Rob Stattel on 2nd, unceasing tuba advocate Josh Mandel on F tuba, and the renowned Andy Seligson on CC tuba. Oh yeah, it's my arrangement of

"Our Love Is Here To Stay!"

The file is about 4 Meg, in mp3 format.

Our Love Is Here To Stay

This is me as soloist with the Lehman College Band, playing "Seascape" by the late composer, Alfred Reed. It's not a really flashy, technical solo, but it shows off the singing, smooth quality of the euphonium.

Seascape/ Alfred Reed, 9.9G

Here's another euphonium solo with the Lehman College Band, this time it's "Variations," by Jerry Owen. This is a fun, jazz-influenced piece that was written for the late jazz euphoniumist, Rich Matteson. Listen closely at the end, you'll hear the death-defying high G, I just thought it worked better than the written note, I think it was a B natural. This is a big file, just under 11G!

Variations, by Jerry Owen

I was a tuba major, and even though I don't
get many calls for it these days, I keep
my chops up on it, because you never know...!

This is the 1st movement of Alec Wilder's "Sonata for Horn, Tuba, and Piano." The players are the lovely and unstoppable Karen Froehlich on horn, the astounding Dan Forman on piano, and myself on my cute little Yamaha YBB103 tuba. This is from a joint recital Karen and I did at Hoff-Barthelson Music School, back in November, 2000.

The file is about 3.3 Meg, in mp3 format.

Wilder- Sonata 1st Mvt.

From the same recital, Here are Dan and I playing the Vaughn-Williams "Studies on English Folksong." I'm playing euphonium on this. Here's the 5th movement...
The file is about 2.5 Meg, in mp3 format.

V-W Studies, 5th Mvt.

And here's the 6th movement. It has the cutest ending, it'll just make you smile and giggle!
The file is about 2 Meg, in mp3 format.
